----- Original Message ----- From: Vilma Pinero, wyndwlkr@aol.com Sent: Friday, December 09, 2005 9:43 PM Subject: Sad news
"Dear Friends and Family:
It is with great sadness that I write tonight to let you know that my mom has died earlier in the evening. As some of you know, she was evacuated to a nursing home in San Antonio due to hurricane Katrina. Juli and I had planned to go up and get her yesterday to being her to a facility closer to home. However on Wednesday, she was found unresponsive at her nursing home. She was taken to a local hospital and found to be overwhelming septic and in cardiogenic shock. Juli and I flew up emergently on Wednesday. She was conscious, responsive and knew we were there. Her condition waxed and waned over the next few days but we continued with aggressive treatment, as was her wish. Juli and I flew home this afternoon to get some things we needed and the whole family planned to drive up in the morning. In the early evening, the hospital called to say that she had rapidly deteriorated and resuscitative efforts were unsuccessful. Thanks to all of you who prayed for us. We were fortunate to have arrived while mom was still aware and are grateful for the time we had with her."

Kentucky: A History of the State, Battle, Perrin, & Kniffin, 6th ed., 1887, Trimble Co.
"B. H. VOIERS was born in Henry County, Ky., April 3, 1843, the eleventh of fourteen children born to William T. and Nancy (Moxley) VOIERS, natives of Kentucky and Virginia. William T. was born in 1797, was by trade a shoemaker, but kept a hotel in New Castle, Ky., and died in 1865. His wife was born in 1812, and died in 1880. Our subject was reared in Henry and Trimble Counties, having moved with his parents to the latter county when quite young. He first engaged in farming, which occupation he followed until 1873. He then entered mercantile business, in which he is at present engaged, and has been very successful. With the exception of a small sum of money received from his father's estate he began life a poor boy. He married Miss Nannie G. Tandy, daughter of Daniel and Sarah (Gant) Tandy. Three children have been born to their union: Carrie M., Sada L. and Cora Lee. Mr. VOIERS and family are members of the Methodist Episcopal Church South. Politically he is a Prohibitionist. He owns 100 acres of land, and a house, lot and store near Bedford. Mr. VOIERS was unanimously nominated by the Prohibition convention, April 23, 1887, to represent Trimble and Oldham Counties in the Legislature, it being the first convention of the kind ever held in Trimble Co."
